Mother Anne has already served in many parishes in the Episcopal Dioceses of New Jersey, Newark, Washington, D.C., Connecticut, in Nottingham, England and in the Lutheran Synod of New Jersey. A graduate of Clearview Regional High School in Mullica Hill, New Jersey, The American University in Washington, D.C. with a B.A. in U.S. History, and the Virginia Theological Seminary with a masters degree in Divinity. She has served as a member of the clergy in the Episcopal Church for over twenty-five years in North Jersey, England and in many South Jersey parishes including Trinity (Vineland), St. Stephen's (Whiting), Trinity Old Swedes (Swedesboro) and as the Acting Dean at Trinity Cathedral (Trenton).
Before ordination, Mother Anne worked as a librarian for a daily newspaper in Connecticut and as a supervisor in the Congressional Research Service of the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. She is married to The Rev. Richard Wrede, the Rector of Christ Episcopal Church (Riverton, N.J.). Their daughter was graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Mother Anne enjoys gardening, natural history, wild birds, needlework and music. She has traveled throughout the U.S.A., Canada, Europe and in the Amazon Rain Forest. She is a member of a first place award winning exhibitor team at the Philadelphia Flower Show.
While formally she is addressed as "Mother Anne" or "Mrs. Wrede", many adult parishioners simply refer to her as "Anne". "After all", she is often heard saying, "If first name basis is good enough for Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, also Mary and Martha, it should be good enough for me."
Joan Sanders our Parish Secretary. Joan is a life long Episcopalian and resident of nearby Beverly NJ. She brings many skills including print design, weaving, spinning and a caring heart to our parish.
Office hours will be 10am - 2pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Joan will be in the office on Tuesdays in the morning and Thursday afternoons. Rev. Anne will handle office calls on Thursday mornings until Joan arrives at about 1:30pm.
